A point about links. Outgoing links, to other sites, from a homepage, for instance, will have a negative effect on a sites search engine ranking. That is why myverdict.net has been reluctant to use them thus far.
I believe, because the way my site is built that links within posts would not have this effect, which is why I mentioned it elsewhere on WDDM.
With regard to Mr Gravel. I sent an email to his site soon after launching myverdict, stating that it could be a valuable resource for him and his members. I've no doubt that, had he wished, he could have contacted his members by email and informed them of myverdict.nets' existence. Perhaps he did.
When myverdict.net is expanded, it would be appropriate to have articles that mention Sen. Gravel but I don't think it would be appropriate as a homepage greeting.
I woke this morning with an idea of how to start implementing DD. I shall try and find the correct section to post it.
