Thanks for your postings Democrates. You are quite right seeing the need for a "social software" website for people of all the world. We must communicate with people on all continents, unifying our efforts so we can all live in peace and have basic needs full filled so every person can contribute to this world we live in. United Humans is working on this and there are now many social sites in the UK uniting the people with links and methods to contact their government directly. The European Union Citizens will soon all be networked in this way. The US is far behind, perhaps it is because our representatives do not want our participation. If they did, they could be developing these communication tools for us. That is why it is important we run government instead of government running US. Fred thinks "better" representatives will save us but the process of governing is flawed so the representative will make little difference.
The problem you see, is that government has the power not the people. We are servants to the government (representatives) and we pay their bills.
I believe as you state, that we must use all the developing tools to unite the people into an Assembly for each nation, community and this world. These people's assembly can than determine plans of what needs to be accomplished. These plans can than be delegated to a government for implementation. The government would be required to submit reports and audits to the people's assembly on the progress or failure of these projects. The people could take the action necessary to correct any difficulty's.
This way, the people run the government, instead of the government running US.
