Mirek,

Thanks for the update on George Sagi.

"Get involved in local politics within the established structures."
"Work for direct democracy."
Seems contradictory.

However, I am aware of at least one concept that moves toward aligning
these two imperatives. This is the VoteDirect program:
http://vpsystems.net/AmericaVoteDirect/.

The main idea of VoteDirect is that the candidate pledges to be directed
by referenda within his/her district. Needs work and practical
experience I think. But still, maybe a way out of the box.

Best,

Mark Antell

He looks very good after winning another bout in his fight with
cancer, and sends greetings to everybody. However he remains as
pessimistic as he started to be in 2005 (see
http://democracy.mkolar.org/pdda/publications.html) as to the fate of
the world, and the possibility of the world-wide democracy (and thus
the meaningfulness of the WDDM efforts). He thinks that the only way
to go is to concentrate on local issues, and to run for office within
the established structures (parties) and if elected to try to achieve
some change from such positions. He is now concentrating on his
Physics projects.
