DISCUSSION ON HOW TO PROMOTE DIRECT (TRUE) DEMOCRACY | |

WDDM Forum : How to promote DD? This forum is dedicated to seeking efficient ways on how to promote and spread DD
|
This appeared in the socialissuegames group on Sept. 22, 2006 as response to somebody seeking games on promoting crime prevention/reduction:
We are about to introduce to the world, eXperience--THE GAMEā¢. ( [www.XTHEGAME.com] )
The Game is more than a game. It is a relationship building tool with a
strong emphasis on community building and conflict resolution. The Game can
be customized for almost any demographic and geographic location. There is a
compelling storyline and super engaging technology. eXperience comes in the
form of a card game, board game, web game and will be developed into a video
and cell phone game.
The Game has been in development for decades and will be launched in 06.
If interested contact me and I can share more details.
All the best,
Jai Hudes, Founder & CEO
eXperience Technologies, Inc.

Another message Sept. 30, 2006:
from an artist's POV, Furtherfield's "Rethinking War Games" and Lillian Ball's "GO ECO" invoke concerns of conflict resolution in game form. While not strictly "skills" training, they provide great opportunities for dialogue, reflection, and discussion of conflict resolution.

Oct. 2, 2006:
I wanted to let you all know about this great online game the group I work
for developed.
It's a play on the popular game Operation with President Bush on the
operating table. But instead of removing the anklebone, heart and brain, you
get to remove Scooter Libby, John Ashcroft, Karl Rove and other members of
Bush's controversial cabinet.
Complete with action cards that give players shocking (and not so shocking)
facts about these ruthless men, the game is well designed, fun, and most
importantly a vehicle for social change! It was designed to educate people
about U.S. politics to help them better understand and fulfill their role as
citizens in a democracy.
Also, the game was created by [www.truemajorityaction.org], a
non-profit organization created by Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. Not
only can you win a year's supply of FREE Ben & Jerry's ice cream, the game
offers players the option of joining TrueMajorityAction where their voice
can be heard on crucial political issues facing America today.
Please forward this to your friends and colleagues widely. It's become quite
popular. If you know of any great sites you think would be interested in
posting this game -- or have a site yourself, let me know.
You can link it directly using the following url:
Or, if you want a flash file, let me know and I can email it to you
directly! And please let me know if you do post this game.
