MANIFESTO for World Citizenship and Democratic Global Governance

The Movement for World Citizenship and World Democracy, [www.worldcit.citymax.com] has compiled the "Manifesto for World Citizenship and Democratic Global Governance" at [www.worldunitydays.net]

The manifesto ends with the following demand: "Affirming that global governance is never intended to impose a common policy on all nations, but to arbitrate in conflicts between national interests and those of humanity, in such a way that each people will be free to choose its type of society, on the basis of respect for human dignity, freedom and democracy,
We, world citizens, hereby demand the establishment of democratically elected, transparently monitored institutions that will uphold the principles of federal World Governance and include a World Parliament."

This seems to be very acceptable to everybody. (Even for DD supporters a really working and representative "World Parliament" would be a progress compared with the present unelected unrepresentative UN institutions, and would be a good milestone on the road toward world-wide direct democracy.)
What migt be controversial to some people is this sentence: "We declare ourselves WORLD CITIZENS." (But I personally like it, and consider myself a world citizen above all other national and local allegiances.)

Anyway, anybody can sign this manifesto personally at [www.worldcit.citymax.com].

They also seek endorsement from organizations. You can discuss here in this thread whether the Manifesto should be endorsed by WDDM, and possibly vote on it in the attached poll.

Although our rules are unfinished, I suggest that we need an overwhelming number of yes votes (80% or more? of those who voted - comments please) to be able to say that we can endorse something as a group.
