The article not only defends Representative Democracy as "the way", but also warn "voters all over the world" to be wary of DD.

It points to some safeguards we could consider for "direct democracy". The article disappoints as it leaves representative democracy as "the way". Living in Wisconsin, where a newly elected Governor has implemented his own "ideas" with literally no legislative action/approval I caution that RR is not the way either. Of course the Calif. folk could correct their "mistake" with a corrective initiative, something RR is loath to do. So let us think how we can develop a system that serves the people as well as the Nation/State. Bruce
