Hi Aki,
A couple of thoughts concerning the book, Future Revolutions.
Detail:  There's pretty good evidence that the library at Alexandria was burned by Christian mobs around 400 CE, (rather than by Islamic mobs in the 9th century).  See Wikipedia.
I would find the book more friendly if it included a basic plan of its main points.  Call it a summary or a synopsis; a 'plan' is something that tells the reader where the discussion is going.
Finally, I agree with your conclusion calling for constitutional direct democracy.
