Re: WWDDM official registration -- and further details. |
Pino was authorized to purchase a WDDM domain -
encompassing
the purchase of the site name - to build up a WDDM web site,
which
he never did.
The reason is, he was interested in working out DD bureaucratic
voting
rules only. We had several face-to-face meetings, mostly at
his home
but also at my home. I helped him for the English translation of
his rules,
but also I urged him for the building up of the WDDM web site,
for which
task he had the necessary web-master skills, and the WDDM
membership
authorization of course. Not only, but I also supported him
with about a
hundred US dollars for (one half, he said, of) the purchasing of
the WDDM
domain account.
A year or two later, as he was doing nothing for the web site, I
urged
him more and more. He refused harshly. So our friendship went
down.
Also, the WDDM membership cooperation started to
break-down.
He gave me back my money. He found another helper for the
English
editing of his bureaucratic rules, namely Bruce Eggum.
Of course you cannot find anything of this in the WDDM archives,
as
all of this happened in face-to-face encounters between me and
Pino.
In the WDDM archives you can find only that Pino's (and
Bruce's)
proposal for WDDM to state out his own "DD bureaucratic
voting
rules" officially worldwide has been rejected by WDDM
*regular
voting* and that Pino retired from WDDM secretariat and
web-master
"because WDDM could not come to any decision by *regular
voting*
rules", he stated, without noticing the paradox he was
putting himself
into. (His supporters did not notice that paradox either)
In saying (and doing) that, Pino found the support of his
helpers, who
wanted WDDM to become a structured organization able to
do...what?
I did not understand their purpose, so late. This is why I posted
(below)
in my first contribution to this forum:
Let me recall:
As for details like DD "Fundamentals", DD
"constitutions", "unique
adequate DD Forum logistic support" and similar DD rules,
please
notice that WDDM can be either:
1. A DD activists' organization wanting to vote and decide
what
the best rules have to be for DD to succeed
and the DD people
to follow;
[or]
2. A DD show where the people can find, confront and
share
the DD suggestions and policies that they
need of to perform
DD bottom-up.
Of course, my opinion is in favour of 2. And
yours ?
Please answer, dear WDDM membership, to help avoid any
further
misunderstandings.
Regards, antonio
P.S.
Also, if I remember well, Pino was not among the few people
who
first designed - founded WDDM at Delphi. That day, he
wanted to
attend somewhere else. He joined the group the day after, this
is
why his name appeared among the WDDM FMs too-- like that of
Mautner, who - again, if I remember well - did not attend at
Delphi.

Minutes of those actions are in the Yahoo WDDM archives. WDDM
had no accounts to purchase, which needed to be accomplished .
However no procedures were ever established nor a treasurer
elected.
This was the downfall of the old WDDM.
Bruce,
please see http://www.world-wide-democracy.net/Wiki/NameorWDDM and post
your coments there.

Hi WDDM members,
Please notice, the WDDM registration that George Kokkas made in
the queue of 2nd CICDD at Athens, 2000, is the Official
International
Registration of a corporate organization devoted to implement DD.
George Sagi paid 100 US# for that.
The registration Bruce is speaking of is the Internet
registration of
a domain name, that Pino Strano made later wanting to secure the
Internet name property. Btw, Pino secured it for his own
ownership,
not for WDDM's: indeed it remains his personal property
still.

My opinion is, the new WDDM has to behave according with 2.
In even clearer words, WDDM has not to drop down* the best
bureaucratic rule, the best definition, the best constitution
chart,
the best anything else* onto the people. Rather, WDDM has
to
provide the democrat people with a range as widest as possible
of DD options, suggestions too only if specifically requested, to
allow the people to choose from.
For this Direct necessity, suffice it the WDDM web site to host
the web page of any member who thinks of his-her ** proposal
it could be relevant for DD purposes, and wants to put it at the
people's disposal, making the latter free to choose.

antonio
