Lee, I strongly agree with your
To answer Mirek's question, "what is the Mission of WDDM?"

If it is not to discuss ways to promote the growth of direct democracy
everywhere in the world, then I am wasting my time reading the
messages on this site--which for the most part have been rather
trivial and irrelevant to the prime topic.

Do we need to be more specific in the wording of our Mission Statement at
the top of our site? It is the fiorst thing a visitor will see.

Could you perhaps be the leader/moderator for the "WDDM Mission Project" -
trying to come up with an appropriate formulation?

I think Bernard Clayson had some ideas in the past.

Here I repeat for the benefit of all that this mailing list has a rather
nice feature that you can retrieve easily (large) blocks of past postings
using the wddm-index and wddm-get addreses.

To get just the headings of postings e.g. No. 10 to 104, send an empty
(message)
wddm-index.10_104(at)world-wide-democracy.net
To get then e.g messages 50 to 60, send an (empty) message
wddm-get.50_50(at)world-wide-democracy.net

It seems to me that WDDF and WDDM are indeed two different groups
with, perhaps, two different objectives, so I agree with Mirek, let's
clearly state the objectives of WDDF right here and now so that
those of us who are tired of mere talk can get down to the business of
creating a real world DD organization (as opposed to this virtual world).

On the subject of strict procedural policies, as Mirek suggests, as opposed
to the the informal and free contributions of members and nonmembers alike
as suggested by Leo--my first thoughts are that strict procedures have
always been necessary in most all organized groups wanting positive results.
But DD is an animal of a different nature so perhaps we can follow Leo's
guidance for a while to see how it goes. If we don't like the results, we can
always create rules and select a moderator to enforce them. We should be
willing to try anything that encourages democratic procedures.

Cheers

Lee G.
