Hi Vijayaraghavan

The Swiss system is both logic and intuitive.

The logic is when a referendum or Initiative is enacted. The intuitive is when the representatives are elected

It is less important who is elected when the voters have the ability to have the final say

Almost all systems are representative systems

The Swiss system is also representative, with the ability of the voters to have the final say, if they want it.

I see political parties as essential to form an effective administrative base. With DD the voters can also change this

Hello Friends in WDDM!

There have been recurring arguments on which is the best system - the Swiss or some other system.

The Representative Democracy (as in Greece and other countries) is based on the intuition of the voters. The Swiss system of Initiative and Referendum is based on logic of the voters. For a voter to make the right choice, both logic and intuition need to be used. Present system of political parties uses mainly the intuition. Direct Democracy (as per present definition as Initiative and Referendum) uses mainly logic.

Using only intuition to the exclusion of logic as well as logic to the exclusion of intuition is bad. It implies fighting with one arm, the other tied behind. Ushering in true democracy requires a balanced use of both human faculties. This is the theme behind the proposal for 'Association of Independents web platform', posted on the 'voting system' of the WDDM website.

The same idea is available in simpler terms in the following blog: http://independentnetworkfordemocracy.blogspot.in/

Best wishes for the New Year!
