RE: [WDDM] Why I support World Government? |
Day-18328-Rant#00714-I feel the same frustrations. Like Malcolm X once
said, "You need some action" How hard is it to put together an idea, a plan, a
constitution, a bunch of words? It's simple, I make it up as I go along all the
time, but getting people to abandon their plan and take on another are
difficult. They can come up with myriad reasons why it won't work and theirs
does and will continue to do so even when faced with overwhelming evidence to
the contrary. For some reason they seem rigid and unwilling to integrate
anything new into their fixed ideals. Some form of cognitive dissonance is
affecting their ability to judge and evaluate new
information.
World Government is here whether we believe
it or not. It's not exactly like the mountains, they don't need you to believe
in them to exist, Government requires us to put our energy into it for it to
sustain itself. Stop believing in it and it would
be nothing more than a bunch of abandoned buildings, banks and military
institutions.
Why not put our energy into something creative and
constructive rather than the old destructive models. Direct Democracy allows for
individual creativity. You can put your idea out there and be laughed at or
lauded with praise. Either one is preferable to silence for nothing grows in a
vacuum.
EEUP,
Educated Electronic Universal Participants or Governance (Not
Governors) or WDDM or any other title you
want to give it like Nanny State, Papa Government, Tyranny, Anarchy, Commie,
Capitalist, Demon Autocracy
Save the people through education and
participation. An example of an open letter:
To the Leaders of the World; This is really
happening
I'm writing to you because your government appears
to be corrupt, at war, in collapse or your population is dying. World Government starts with you at the local and regional levels. You could be known as the
Fathers of the New World or just another failed Tyrant, Despot or corrupt
elected official.
So you tried as hard as you could but you just
couldn't match the economic growth of the USA or other western powers? Your
population wants to kill you rather than immortalize you? You have a few wealthy
corrupt individuals and the poor are nothing short of slaves under military
rule. The reasons are probably many and varied in your mind and the minds of all
of your sycophant advisors. The false economy built upon mass consumption of
goods and services that brings an improved sense of self satisfaction to the
general population is really just an empty form of psychological junk food. They
sit in a stupor until told to go off to war to kill for god and country.
Eventually the corporation will get you too.
The real growth in the west comes from conquest.
They ride the crest of a wave of debt borrowed at the banks. It's a war economy
and has been blatantly so for the past century. War profiteering. Mass buildup
of the military industrial complex. Intrusive foreign polices destabilizing the
Governments of all African, South and Central American, Middle East and Far
Eastern nation states by simultaneously arming and training each other. Corrupt
political and corporate entities that promote arms sales and weapons buildup in
warring nation states overseas. Creating Kuwait and Israel and other nations.
Installing the Shah of Iran, Saddam and other Tyrants. Arming, equipping and
training then invading and destroying everything along with millions of
people. Counterinsurgency operations to destabilize indigent populations such as
creating the PLA, Contra, Sandinista death squads, Al'Qaeda and Taliban. Arming
Israel in a centuries old religious conflict with Islam. It's a pattern that you
can change.
Our democratic government system is hundreds of
years old and not in step with humanities needs. We have global communication to
every corner of the planet. There is no reason why we cannot setup a global
system of lawmaking, and governance by the population on global issues, regional
issues and local issues. A "Direct Democracy". Get the entire population
involved in discussions about governance and lawmaking, education and
entertainment, housing and population control. Existing laws and rules would
slowly undergo transformations removing restrictive archaic aspects. We can
present, debate, and vote upon all issues or only the ones that concern
us. We could have a cascading cue of 30, 60, and 90 days on the issues. Have a
word limit of (2000) words to propose a law. Have various word limits on posts
(300) and rebuttals (500) depending upon the area.
The proposals, debates, voting and empowerment
would be done by everyone via the internet and telephone with a pin number.
There are many examples of this idea under various names such as National
Initiative. The simpler it is the better. It's an addition to the current
constitution and laws of your country that allows people to change the laws of
the land as needed.
The Laws of the Land of the Direct
Democracy:
Thou shall not kill.
Thou shall not steal
The International Anthem:
Ten Years after - I'd
love to change the world
The International Motto:
Do unto others as you
would have them do unto you
The Direct Democratic Constitution:
Article 1
Amendment I
We the People, hereby establish this First Article
to the Direct Democratic Constitution.
Article I.
Section 1. The House of the People
Clause 1: The House of the People shall be composed
of the entirety of We the People of the Planet Earth.
Clause 2: No Person shall be a member of the House
of the People who shall not have attained the Age of Ten Years, and is a Citizen of the Planet
Earth.
Clause 3: Each Citizen in the House of the People
shall have one Vote in conjunction with a weighted voting exam.
Clause 4: The House of the People shall in all
times be sitting, and shall not adjourn for any reason, but does not need to
gather physically in order to proceed in Session.
Clause 5: The Numbers comprising the majority and
two thirds of The House of the People shall be determined by the most recent
Census, or by other method that The House of the People shall deem
necessary.
Clause 6: The House of the People shall choose the
manner by which they will conduct its Rules of Proceedings, and shall choose to
expel a Member, but only with the Concurrence of two thirds.
Clause 7: The House of the People shall keep a
Journal of its Proceedings, and from time to time publish the same.
Section 2. The Powers of The House of the
People
Clause 1: Any Member of The House of the People
shall have the power to propose Laws, which upon Majority Vote shall become the
Law of the Land, but may not enact any Law in violation of this Constitution,
and all Laws enacted Thereof shall be subject to Judicial Review to Test the
Constitutionality of such Laws.
Clause 2: The House of the People shall have the
Power to overrule any Legislation, Rules, Appointments, Treaties, or Executive
Orders issued by the Senates, Houses of Representatives, or the former rulers
upon reaching Majority.
Clause 3: The House of the People shall have the
sole Power of Recall of any legislative, executive, judicial, or civil officer,
but may only Recall such an officer upon reaching Majority; however the Power of
Recall shall not extend further than the removal from Office, and
disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under
the Democracy: but the Party recalled shall nevertheless be liable and subject
to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
Clause 4: The House of the People, whenever two
thirds Concur, shall have the Power to enact Amendments to this
Constitution.
Clause 5: The Members of the House of the People
shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no
religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public
Trust under the Democracy.
Attach a sample weighted voting exam. I don't
want to come up with all the questions so you could come up with some like "why"
was the Spanish American war fought, not where, when and by whom. Name events connected with the following dates in
America: 1607, 1620, 1800, 1849, 1865, 1913, 1963
When is the UN, a single nation or even someone
with real leadership abilities going to provide a website for the citizens of
the world to login to. All I ever see is industry and government calling for
more controls and more restrictions on the internet and access to
information.
We need a Direct Democratic forum to start working
on a World Government by the people for the people. A website the population can
login to with a secure password that has every possible type of community forums
and a pin for voting legal and governmental issues to lodge complaints and to
share our ideas with each other. Setup something like a combination radio, TV,
Video on demand archive, facebook, youtube, myspace, limewire, wiki, open source
software database, webcam, dating, chat room, net meeting, mIRC, cspan, job
board, Pogo, Poker, MMORPG type of
resource.
This MMORPG game, with interactive education as
entertainment, would provide a healthy alternative to the current culture. It's
not perfect but it would be a good start and it is open to change and growth
after all evolution and problem solving is what we are all about. We just need
some people with knowledge and resources to put something together. Make it so
number one. A quote from the great socialist naval dictatorship
series.
I have three levels of game play in mind. Learn
from the past, live in the present, design for the future. You work you way up
in each through the accumulation of skills and knowledge, one compliments the
other. The chances that you could actually complete a level are quite low
because they would be continually being updated and expanded. Just learning
every Language on the planet could take a lifetime. Your progress is tracked and
could be displayed in a meter format over your avatar to show your current
status. You only need to achieve certain essential goals by accumulating
knowledge to unlock the next level. You can return to complete lower level
quests at any time. The more knowledge you accumulate the higher you will do on
the weighted voting exams.
Your adventure would begin with a tutorial walk
through. I would play this out as a black hole reaching critical, creating our
universe, tetrahedrons, octaves and the synergistic order of everything, the
formation and expansion of the galaxies, the creation of life up till the
humanoid is laying in the sand, naked, helpless and ignorant. You would be
guided through several tasks which would familiarize you with the environment
and controls. It's through this series of newbie quests you learn the rules and
guidelines for conduct. You learn to navigate the forums for current tests and
issues to vote on and how to post and use the voice chat.
Get the world talking to each other in real time.
We need a common meeting place so we can form some solidarity. This one way
delivery of propaganda tainted information via Tell Lie Vision has the
population cut off from each other and the democratic process. We the people
have no voice. We have no way to put our ideas out there and we have no way to
see other people's ideas. The people around the world, like the African nations,
China, the Americas, Russia, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan need to be
able to talk to each other and help each other in real time. You see how having
no way to voice your frustrations leads to violence?
The hell with talking through the "Leaders" only.
We all know that most of the "Leaders" of the world are corrupted and many of
the "Democratic governments" they rule are rotten to the core. We need to start
working on "Direct Democracy" from the ground up. We the people need to take
control of our destiny and stop leaving our lives in the hands of wealthy
corporate interests.
These are all terrible tragedies overseas. It's
gotten to be like an information overload. Which crisis is more important? The
general population of the world is distracted and divided. Think about the
Compass and Square, Divide & Rule, keep divided, keep ruled. We have no
place to go and form some solidarity against the tide of oppression. The media
here in the west is not helping matters either with it's commercial bombardment.
They focus on celebrities, the wealthy, and the powerful of the world like they
are special and wouldn't you like to be special too. This preoccupation with the
propaganda of fame, money and power promotes greed. It is telling people it's OK
to behave like this, sometimes. You see Britney Spears getting headlines for
being a bad mother and moron. Some tennis star coke slut Hingis or the steroid
sucking baseball player Clemens whining about how unfair these drug charges are.
Presidential candidates acting like pop stars and televangelists, corrupted by
millions of dollars they beam their lies into American homes via the propaganda
machine, TV. The real issues don't even get a mention on air.
They iconize sports teams like a religion. The
players are idolized like Gods. Billions annually in money for salaries and the
venues let alone the time and energy wasted on them by the fans. Yet again not a
dime for the starving around the world. News of starving and genocide then the
very next second millionaire sports stars and the weather they love to holiday
in. You graduate from school into the Army, the ultimate sports
team.
Countries all involved in spending money on
international sports competitions like Junior Hockey, Equestrian events, and The
Olympics but they spend less on foreign aid. We pursue decadent lifestyles while
we ignore the poor. They are easy to ignore because they have no voice. While
sports and physical exercise are good this insane preoccupation of competition
with each other is globally divisive. It's one of the reasons we all have
armies, we chose to have armies. Armies are promoted to us, Be Army Strong.
China is spending billions of dollars on the Olympics while millions of it's
citizens die from police brutality, starvation and toxic poisons. The common
people are being displaced from their lands as the corrupt, greedy capitalists
rape and pollute the land and it's people in the name of economic
growth.
Our biggest drawback is education. Ignorance is
nothing shameful but imposing ignorance is and willful ignorance is downright
criminal. You need to learn that your population is your biggest natural
resource. They are not simply mindless slaves. The combined intelligence of your
population can ask, solve and answer any question. They would rally to each
other's aid if they could communicate. You need to eventually provide every
citizen a combination laptop world phone like a Blackberry with access to the
internet as well as Radio and TV reception to educational pod casts and
streaming video content like English and other Language lessons, Math lessons,
History lessons, Carl Sagan's Cosmos, Richard Feynman's The pleasure of finding
things out, BBC Planet Earth, etc. Add propaganda disclaimers, war is not
inevitable. Produce Honest News, and educational content only. Perhaps Global,
regional and local channels for both news and societal issues to check
proposals, debates and votes as well as news updates on the hour.
We need educational TV not commercial brainwashing.
Don't broadcast the crappy USA brainwashing, propaganda, time wasting TV that
passes for entertainment. Happy Honda days, bigger breasts, longer dicks,
thicker hair, clearer skin, whiter teeth, shinier floors, faster foods, bigger
portions, fosters fears and greed. No more marketing and advertising propaganda
draining the wealth of nations. No TV delivering some fake lives into homes full
of brainwashed people that get there friends at 7:30 Dr. Phil at 8:00 and Judge
Judy at 9:00 Sitcoms and movies are a waste of your time and intelligence. A
contrived life of some imaginary peoples on the societal babysitter, TV. There
is nothing real about that. They have lost touch with the real world. They don't
even see the real world anymore. They live entirely in a fantasy world. When
people try to talk about the real world and current affairs they have no idea
what's going on and just retreat farther from reality.
Quit isolating people with mindless brainwashing on
the TV. More communication between the world's population will mean more
questions, more problems and more answers and solutions. It fosters a global
commitment to each other, brotherly love if you will. The more we communicate
the more we learn and the more we respect each other's opinions. Bombard
people's senses with truth and facts about everything instead of distracting
them with gizmos and gadgets. Force people to go outside for entertainment.
Force them to interact with other people for entertainment. Their knowledge and
freedom will infect and sweep the world.
The important task is education for the entire
population. Building more schools or renovating some old buildings. Training
teachers for all positions plus staffing support. Media delivered education via
the laptops. Standardized student aptitude tests to help counselors guide
students down a path that will make them successful. Retesting every couple
years to see if their interests are changing and may need to change their
curriculum. The schools would be education and entertainment centers with all
the arts students integrated. Love of self and others as a form of Birth
control, family planning and a responsibility to the human race as well as the
other life on the planet would be taught from birth. Not the gross commercialism
which is taught from childhood via the TV and media of today.
We spend years teaching students information they
will never use once they focus on a field of work and study. We need a
standardized educational assessment system. Once a skill path is chosen your
studies are tailored to train you to be successful in life. It would be more
than adequate to name those specific areas of the arts or sciences which they
were not previously assessed for rather than teach them formulae and concepts
they will never use and may not even fully comprehend. Encourage natural
curiosity and they will study it on their own time for self enrichment. If a
student wishes to change their studies they would speak to a counselor with
parental participation. If they are still determined then they are encouraged to
excel in this new field. Nothing is denied.
Teach children from an early age that education is
a responsibility not a right. It's an investment of time and energy by the
teachers and they deserve the respect of the students. The teachers respect the
students before they have even met them. An education system where students are
in school for eight hours, teachers do 4 hour shifts as do the parents in their
careers. This allows parental time off as well. Pre school, kindergarten at age
three. No two month summer holidays. Two weeks every quarter. Have staggered
holidays for both students and teachers so schools never close. This is open to
debate and changes via the democratic government system.
For starters you need to continue going to school,
and work as you do today. Focus on agriculture and housing. Provide easy access
to computers to access the internet and Direct Democracy website. Equalize wages
across the country. Everybody earns within the range of their knowledge. Find
out what the poverty level wage is and add 5% then that's what everybody earns
as a minimum for basic unskilled labor. Have four wage levels by adding 10% for
each level to skilled labor, Management, Doctorate.
Use our current debit, credit card banking system
with only minor changes. Money becomes non transferable credits we use to travel
to resorts where people earn their own credits working in this service industry.
They in turn can travel or buy specialty luxury items for themselves or as
gifts.
Stop selling junk and just give away food, shelter,
clothing and the basics to everyone. You still go to the store and shop for
groceries. You "pay" with your debit, inventory is reordered and local usage is
tracked and service industry employment is maintained. End corporate rule and
put the ownership of everything in the hands of the people collectively. A
monopoly is fine if the people own it and are happy with it.
A company can operate at a loss. It provides side
benefits like employment and services to the community. Print money if you must,
money will become a non issue eventually. This would need to carry on for a
couple decades as changes take place but the world you leave for your children
will be a healthy one compared to the one you live in now. As your country
becomes free of the tyranny of our past you would encourage others to join you.
Corporations turned into public trusts. Food and clothing being shipped to every
corner of the globe. Offer open citizenship to anyone willing join your nation.
Lead the world in saving lives and you will make a difference worthy of mention
in history books.
Within the first few years the average work days
and weeks could be shortened as you meet your needs for food, housing and
comforts faster. Eventually you will have a stable, well coordinated, government
representation that consists of mostly just resource management with no greater
governing power than anyone else. The population governs it's needs daily
through the forums. Taxation goes to a minimum and volunteerism becomes the
norm. No one able to hold office under the age of 20 local 25 regional 30
global. The technical support staff and emergency response teams and managers
are not elected but hired from the population through a government website. No
work until you graduate at age 20. Retire at 40. The first 40 years are split
between education and a career. Feel free to work as long as you wish at any
trade you choose.
The video on demand, website and forums would be a
hierarchal tree:
You login and check local, regional, global and
other cued issues. Educational 1 month, local is 3 months, regional 6 months and
global a 9 month period for each stage. To advance a stage you need 51% of the
posted comments support. Proposed items sit in a cue and take criticism or
praise plus an acceptance vote for a period. Once a proposal is accepted it can
move to debate. and secondary voting process. The debate period is determined by
the issues impact as well. The final phase is the voting. To carry a law you
need 51% of the eligible voters turnout and consent. If you fail to gain
approval at any point the proposal is simply withdrawn. You may rewrite it to
repair the parts people didn't like and then resubmit it after a 1, 3, 6, or 9
month waiting period. The waiting period is for the individual and not the the
law, a time to cool down and think about things.
If a law or resolution is passed it goes up to
global management for resource allocation and enactment. All steps in the
process are tracked via the forums. The traffic for many years from the start
will be fast and furious but with time the issues will all be solved but for the
occasional new problem or innovation. Nothing sneaky. The more people work
together the more problems get pointed out and fixed. Eventually society becomes
more open and less restrictive. With the elimination of personal wealth and
power and dynasties the driving force is to work together. Tax the bad products
and practices into non existence. Allow people to rewrite the laws that restrict
them and they will soar.
Pages for local issues. News, Birthdays and
announcements. Companionship and dating. Hospital and clinic issues, housing,
food and clothing distribution. Road repairs, local municipal infrastructures,
public transportation, area specifics such as farming or manufacturing etc,
depending upon what is in your area. Local meetings, gatherings, education,
school events and dances. Public performances and speakers. Example, we need
more snowplows and operators for the coming winter. This means more employees,
housing, food and services plus the equipment and facilities. Agree that we need
this or not? Or, we want some restaurants for our lunch crowd at the clothing
plant. Yes or no?
Pages for regional issues. Railway services,
seaports, airports, parks, forestry, highways, hydro installations. An example,
we need a high speed rail link between two cities. We can use the same
population center to service two manufacturing centers, a kind of job sharing.
Can we get management to take care of this yes or no?
Pages for Global issues. Global healthcare,
emerging technologies. A new research facility is needed to study some new
discovery. Materials needed globally such as building materials or food. Maybe
tools and farm equipment for an area or a space port in the future. Possibly
moving of people from one area to another. More teachers needed in a rural area
for example. Other examples would be a drought in an area, move the people out
to a place with housing and available work or schooling.
Pages for human resources needs. Pages for
Government positions, Places for disgruntled workers to post reassignment or
resignation notices. Vacant positions open by area. Housing availability pages.
Every business, job and vacant suite on the planet listed by area and trade.
Managers for population and resource management. These positions would be
voluntary and promotions from within would be common. Management would be like a
hierarchal position but with a loose central office. You work from your home
area as do your mid level managers. Essentially you can work from home. This
would be like the remnants of our existing government structures to start.
Whether on global, regional or local levels this job is all about keeping
current on education, manufacturing, shipping and receiving of essential goods
and services such as healthy foods, drugs, clothing and health care. Also social
amenities such as laptops, cell phones and electric cars and cycles and
amusement areas. The stores are stocked with goods but no tellers. Self serve,
scanned as you place it in the cart and reordered as needed. Housing managers,
apartment managers tracking vacancies. Hospital administrators. School
administrators. Every position you can think of can be added to the tree. The
technical support staff. Computer network and software technicians tasked with
keeping current and secure. Emergency response teams. Start over staffing large
agricultural productions as well as clothing manufacture until everyone is
equipped.
Pages for emergency situations. Floods,
earthquakes, natural disasters and extreme weather. We need more volunteers send
help. Sign up here. Transportation arrangements via XYZ train station at posted
times: Bring a bag lunch. People needed in one area to help with agriculture or
another to build housing. Maybe a manufacturing facility is short of workers.
Move agricultural equipment and food in and take people out to be relocated to
more food rich areas. You have enough food if everyone switches off the animal
centric diets and processed fast foods. Green smoothies blended from a banana, a
cup of water and a couple leafs of Kale. B12 is the only supplement needed on
occasion. So many choices yet everyone wants to eat at the smorgasbord. We need
to get people working on what a healthy human diet really is.
The military would, over time, destroy all weapons
and become the emergency response teams going in on disaster relief or
population feeding and relocation. If there were no weapons there would be no
killing. It's really that simple. Fist fights, the odd stabbing or beating would
be about it. By continuing to manufacture weapons you are saying here is a brand
new weapon now go forth and kill people. If you made books people would read. If
you made food people would eat. If you made cell phones people would
communicate. We would have a few standing response teams around the area. During
down times they work on global projects like hydro weirs, wind turbines,
research facilities, agriculture projects and global transportation systems like
a rail link.
No land ownership so if you want to just go live
off the land that's your choice. If you currently own land you can stay on it
until you die but then it returns to the wild. Houses and estates abandoned
outside transportation and supply areas would be sought by isolationists. Small
hobby farms and small businesses would be around and that's great. No destroying
the environment at all though, no slash burning, tree falling or hunting listed
local endangered species. That is true freedom to do what you want or to pitch
in for the good of all and reach for the stars.
Stop alcohol and tobacco production. It's not
illegal but if you want some make it yourself. Get a wine kit or a beer kit and
tobacco seeds from the store or make your own rot gut still and go blind. Same
for weed, you want it then just grow it. Supply seeds at the local pharmacy
which would be located in the local hospital or clinic. No more illegal drug
industry. Sure moon shiners could run a still but why? Anything he could trade
the majority of people for is the same stuff he can get himself for free. There
would be other local artisans but they would be limited to nearby
locals.
With the decline of money for a global credits
system the greed would decline and the need for police would eventually
disappear. As everyone realized everyone else was the same as them and had
nothing worth stealing envy would decline. There would still be some lonely
people who feel isolated and lash out at others for sexual gratification or
attention of some kind. Education and encouragement to get them involved is the
best form of prevention. Bring people together and start sharing ideas and
dreams instead of crushing them.
As well we would see more standardization in items
like computers, software, the cell phone network, education, the English
language as primary and others secondary. Healthy foods as opposed to unhealthy
comfort foods. Universal standards would mean ease of parts and repairs and
training standards for maintenance personnel. It doesn't mean we would have one
crappy product thrust upon us. We would have the best product available. People
would demand it via the forums. It would be a law. R&D would be ongoing with
the thirst for knowledge.
The responsibility would be from the local level on
up. You may live in an area that produces for global distribution or merely
local residents feeding yourselves for the most part. If you need a person to do
something go kick somebody's ass and get it done. If you are short a skilled
trade then have the local rep send a petition to human resources and get the job
posted on the webpage. If you ask, someone will help.
I'm no communist and this is not an anarchist,
Marxist, society I'm thinking of. It's a Direct Democracy and it's a sane
society. People sharing new ideas as they get them which encourages
investigations which brings even more new ideas and questions and innovations.
With everything out in the open in the forums nothing can be snuck into law that
would harm anyone. There would be immediate help on the big issues such as
housing, starvation, war and global pollution. It's important and people would
be dealing with it everyday until it was gone. Starving? Go to the airport and
get on a plane to here, we have lots of food and housing.
Initial growing pains would be inevitable but
preferable to these endless wars we wage. It would be a learning experience for
many but with the guidance of the already educated progress would come fast.
With the combined wisdom and ideas of the entire population working together in
honest cooperation you can conquer any problem. I'm certain greed and the love
of money would remain in some forms to facilitate the barter system but we can
leave it localized plus keep it to a minimum and not allow foreign banks to put
us in debt to each other ever again. Maybe some form of global credits earned
over the course of a career that grants unlimited access to global travel. Try
to keep the existing population centers that we have now and migrate people
closer to them, high density housing. If all the important needs are met like
healthy food, basic clothing, incidental toiletries, shelters of all kinds from
trailers, apartments and houses, hydro, healthcare, a laptop communication
device for education and entertainment. Then stuff like jewelers and tattoo
artists would be at a minimum anyways. Every person that needed an electric car
could just go get one from a supply center. Return it when done or report it for
service. Just get a new one as needed.
Hey, it's a start. Utopia? Maybe not but at least
I'm trying to think of an alternative to the endless cycle of war and poverty.
Business as usual for the last 100 years sucks. Now realize this has really been
going on for at least 5,000 years.
At least put this out there and get people
thinking about it. If you have questions, and I'm hopeful that you do, then
contact someone that is not trapped in the linguistic constructs of the state
approved dogma like warmongers and party hacks all are. Remember inside every beLIEf is a big fat lie and
dogma is the same as saying I am god.

[WDDM] Why I support World Government?
I can not speak for others, but I have experienced this same problem
myself as mentioned:
"I don't usually respond to the correspondence I get from
WDDM. Most of the time I find that its members cannot break
away from the mindset of "vigorous" debate, which is
perceived to be such an important feature of any democratic
system. It goes around in circles."
The Direct Democracy movement knows very well what the problems of our
Republican form of government are, but the problem is that the solutions given
on how to actually achieve Direct Democracy tend to splinter the group.
Often times to question someones concept on direct democracy or how they would
achieve it on rational terms is discouraged, because the view from the group
is that we want to retain as much support as we can and concrete methods to
achieve those goals tend to divide us. Case in point. The Direct
Democracy Initiative process as spelled out through the Constitutional
Amendment they are proposing to allow the public to submit proposals to the
national government is run by a committee of the people who are sponsoring the
amendment so once again the ideas that move forward are in some ways
determined by the committee members, rather than by the general public and no
consideration is given to states or local rights which divides the direct
democracy movement between these who favor greater local control (as I do)
verses those who favor more national laws. Also speaking to religious
folks who want to put a proposal down to say allow prayer is school or allow
for the Bible in the class room, the other side feels that these types of
proposals shouldn't even be allowed on the ballot because they violate the
first amendment. The problem is that now these same religious folks feel
like what good is democracy if my ideas can't even be placed on the
ballot. These are just a small fraction of the, like
myself, could work to develop a Direct Democracy constitution. No
limits. Lets see how far the concept can go. But it doesn't get
much attention, because each person is going in their own direct democracy
direction where the direction seems to mimic their own political philosophy:
Conservation Direct Democracy, Liberal Direct Democracy, etc. If we truly had
a concrete plan I have the forms we could print it out and start the signature
gathering to put an initiative on the ballot in each state to Amend the
constitution, of course not all states allow public initiatives, but at least
it is a start. We don't even have to go that far, why not put
out one initiative in one state to amend the state constitution to create
a direct democracy in that state and kick out the state legislature.
This is what a concrete practical idea would give us provided the average
American agrees with the concrete solution given. The authority has
always been in our hands, but it is easier to complain than it is to think and
research and problem solve and we each have busy lives. Due to
this the cause remains a cause waiting for the blue print and actual
constructive progress. PS if your hoping congress will actually take
away some of their power to give it to the people you might have better
odds playing the lottery.
Sincerely,
Michael Stansfield

support World Government?
Good Morning, Lata
Regarding
your message of Fri, 31 Jul 2009 07:24:51 +0000 (GMT)
re: "'You say
that we don't need a government but instead just
need to
solve problems "such as how to feed the community,
how to
provide adequate water...' etc. Well, that's
government
..."
Well said!!!
The balance of your argument is equally
irrefutable. I chose this brief excerpt simply as an
example.
re: "... we have a problem with being 'represented' by
somebody
who does not know us, does not care, somebody who
has their
own agenda and career to worry about and a society
which
does not think we are smart enough or responsible
enough to
grasp the skills of government."
Well
said!!!
And, again, merely a brief excerpt from an excellent
observation.
This is the crux of the matter. While I realize
you said (on May 14th) ...
"I don't usually respond to the
correspondence I get from
WDDM. Most of the time I find that
its members cannot break
away from the mindset of "vigorous"
debate, which is
perceived to be such an important feature of
any democratic
system. It goes around in circles."
...
I wonder if you would be willing to discuss the specific problem
you identified here?
I read and understand the game you proposed (on
May 14th), but:
1) at the moment it does not (so far as I know)
exist,
2) participation would be limited to those with the equipment
and
ability to play the game (which is not universal), and
3)
it is at least one level removed from human interaction.
The little bit
of your material I've been privileged to read tells me you are uncommonly
thoughtful. Could we exchange some ideas on representative government,
either privately or in this forum?
