Mr. Jiri Polak, I am glad that you agreed about the commonality of our views. Regarding your question on how a Global Association of Independents (or World True Democracy Platform - the name does not matter) can play a role in practical politics I have explained it in my blog: http://worldtruedemocracyplatform.blogspot.com/
A key point is selection of a candidate from the members of the association in a fair manner, to stand in a particular election. For this I find that the Triplet system is suitable. Kindly give your view on this.
If a workable plan can be arrived at through discussion among members then it can be put to vote for implementing the same.
Sincerely,
Vijayaraghavan P

Dear Mr.Padmanabhan, I see that we are on the same wavelength. I presume that your proposed Association of Independents is meant to act on a global scale. I endorse it but I cannot see how such an association could play a role in practical politics. So far, DD organisations are small (except the Mehr Demokratie in Germany) and unable to compete with the established Parties and Unions. Nevertheless, it´s worth trying. We´ll see. With my best regards Jiri Polak

Under the section 'How do we achieve this', I find that your suggestion for creation of an "Association of Independents" to contest elections and face political parties - http://www.planet-thanet.fsnet.co.uk/nps/nps2.htm#How%20do%20we%20achieve%20this? - is basically the same as what I have been suggesting. Only thing is that I am suggesting the creation of a web-based platform to facilitate the same process. Once again I reiterate - (1) It can form a nidus for action on the ground. (2) The potential of the internet can be harnessed to the utmost advantage.Sincerely,Vijayaraghavan POn Thu, 30 Apr 2009 14:03:45 0200 wddm@world-wide-democracy.net wroteHello,I agree with what Bruce has written. If the aim of the new proposed discussion forum is to find an alternative to political parties, I will participate. Party power monopoly is not and cannot be democracy. Alternative models exist already, the problem is to realize them in political practice.Sincerely, Jiri Polak----- Original Message ----- From: Vijayaraghavan Padmanabhan To: wddm@world-wide-democracy.net Sent: Thursday, April 30, 2009 1:45 PMSubject: [WDDM] Re :Re: [WDDM] Re :[WDDM] What is the AIM of WDDM?Dear WDDM members,Bruce has not grasped what I have been trying to tell. To make things clear, I would like to know how many members feel the same way as Bruce. Keeping silent does not help anyone. I would urge Mirek to conduct a poll on this issue. Once for all the aim of WDDM should be decided. That is why citizens wantpower over their government, not simply to choose different people togovern us.Second, there will always be groupswhich form who have similar beliefs. It makes no difference if youcall them groups or think tanks or party's, they will always be there trying toinfluence to their way of thinking. If your group [Party] wants to fight party's gofor it, but that is not the AIM of WDDM. WDDM chooses to developpeople power by putting the people in charge of their governments. Ifyou agree with the AIM of WDDM than join us.Bruce[personal opinion posted as acitizen of the World and member of WDDM]Bruce EggumGresham Wisconsin, USA voteOn Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 12:01 PM, Vijayaraghavan Padmanabhan wrote:Dear Mr. Jiri Polak,The proposed platform would indeed be another discussion channel but the discussion would be centered around developing an alternative to the concept of political parties. A transformation into true democracy must be enforced in communes, villages, towns, regions and states by local people. There is no other way.Sincerely, Jiri Polak
