"most people cannot or will not , when given the opportunity, take part in their own governance."
People will likely follow the leader until they are freed to follow principles.

Hi All,

Thanks to those who provided suitable research links.

Now some questions on Kibbutzism, which I know virtually nothing about.

Let's assume for the purpose of these questions that we accept Georges assertion that based upon the three rules kibbutzism equates to functioning DD.

One of the arguments against DD, is that people would not be bothered to participate in the ongoing process and we thus need to elect representatives to carry on the business of governance.

I'm assuming that, regardless of the present state of any kibbutz, at one time, the members of all of them would have been keen participants.

Is this an ongoing thing, in general, or in any particular kibbutz.

Has the day-to-day participation gradually declined to a point where kibbutzes in general, are 'led', or do they still function as originally intended, with full participation.

I ask these questions, not to suggest that kibbutzism is necessarily a way forward but to answer the accusations that most people cannot or will not, when given the opportunity, take part in their own governance.

Hi Giorgio,
My word is equality. Inclusion is a good way to put it, include all.

Thanks Giorgio, I agree with you. The game continues, different pawns.
Israel, connected to usa at the hip is supposedly a country, even claims democracy. However its actions are of a theocracy with imperialistic desires.
Jew is a religion, not a country. Many Jews are against the present "system."
The real kingpins are not seen. Bush is another pawn.
Israel genocide of Palestinians and US genocide of Arabs, Muslims, and others is more imperialism.
It will take a great deal of people and money to form a "democracy" capable of overcoming the Capitalist money mongers.

Hi Bruce,
i'm not against Americans because of Bush or CIA. I'm not against Italians because of Berlusconi. I'm not against Israel because of Mossad. I acknowledge that there's good and evil in any country of the world. Many Americans, Italians and Israeli are committed to fight for a better society and equal rights. While these people fight many others do it for opposite purposes, aiming at discriminations, exploitation and concentration of moneypower in the hands of few. I think that an important mission of ours should be acknowledging the true reasons of the current disaster and find a suitable remedy, eventually. When someone places ideology before facts, well, that's the basis of any future discrimination. Take patriotism for instance: as wisely George B. Shaw once wrote" Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all others because you were born in it". The elites WANT and NEED patriots, ie people who like to kill and get killed in distant places while defending their interests. Facts say that each death, no matter what passport,  is a great loss for all the people who loved him/her. This brings me to believe that the ONE and ONLY value is the necessity to control the quantity of pain we are causing. Exclusions are based upon the right (given by whom?) to decide the haves and the havenots, and this begets pain. Inclusion is the opposite process, where no one can tell the difference between them two. I suppose DD works in this direction and a red alert should turn on when exclusions happen, esp in this ng.
Wherever there's pain there's a process of exclusion started by the elites and carried on by their watchdogs.
Maybe we should begin to talk about the composition of the various casts and their role within our social hierarchy

Regards

Giorgio
