Subject: Iniative and Binding Referendum soon possible in Africa with internet

Civil society calls for new governance to make the Internet accessible to Africans
Convened on the 28 October 2007 by the Association for Progressive Communications (APC)
civil society groups have called for new forms of corporate governance to develop the ICT infrastructure in Africa. These new forms should "ensure the interests of all stakeholders, but above all, the interest of African consumers and citizens," the statement reveals. The Kigali statement by African civil society delegates, academics, researchers, consumer interest groups and internet service providers is made in light of the Connect Africa Summit which took place on the 29-30 October.For more information, click here.
