01526: Voting system, demostration elections

Subject: Voting system, demostration elections

In response to the request copied below, I have deleted all the votes
and voters from the two demonstration elections, and so you all can
start to play with them again, if you wish.

Bruce asked me to recover his personal encryption keys for this
elections after new candidates were added. But that is not possible
(that's why it is personal; only the voter owns it, only she/he can
access their vote, no one other). It is also not possible to delete
only one voters vote from a secret election, because without knowing
their encryption key, there is no way to know how to adjust the total
results. So the only way was to cancel the whole election, and start
anew (which is no problem in this case, because there are no real
elections, only the demonstration cases for the (new) users to get
acquainted with the system. It is an equivalent of that is called
"Sandbox" is wikis, and other such system.

Main thing: if you ever want to change your vote in a secret vote on our
system (especially if the vote allows adding candidates), you must
remember your encryption key (code) you used for that vote. This key may
be the same for all votes in the WDDM system (easier to remember), or
you can select a different key for each election (for maximum secrecy).
It's up to you. But remember the code(s) you use, and keep them for
yourselves.

Is this explanation clear enough as to the purpose of these new two
elections? Do we really need some FAQs on the voting system?

Mirek

P.S. The question (in the Forum) of Roy Daine on how the secret vote in
our system works is not forgotten, will be answered soon.

dear Mirek,
I did not elaborate. sorry
I do not know what this vote is for? It says
Demo Plurality Method Elections

What in the world is Demo Plurality Method Elections and why are we
adding candidates?
I suggest this demo election be canceled and new elections not start
until the "electorate" understands a bit. I am glad for the experience
and learned the importance of a "code". I suppose someplace an "election
FAQ " could elaborate a bit so all understand this.

Thanks for any clarification, Bruce
