Proposed questions:

    1. Why have you become a WDDM member?

A1      To make some contributions for the advancement of global true democracy

2. What should WDDM try to achieve?

A2      To achieve global true democracy

3. Does WDDM need a decision making mechanism (voting)?
A3      Yes, it certainly does. Otherwise some individuals or groups of individuals would make decisions for and on behalf of WDDM

4. Is there any point to wait any longer that any spontaneous
progress
(self-organization) will be made on issues that were moved to
http://www.world-wide-democracy.net/Wiki/AdjournedHistoricalTopics
section?
A4      No, because WDDM as presently structured or evolved is primarily focused on being a repository of DD resources with contributions from members. This it has done reasonably well especially with some initially enthusiastic members, but there is very little on building a DD community.

5. Should instead a small group of active WDDM members formulate
all the
basic documents (Mission. Goals, Rules, Voting procedures)?

A5      Yes, this is a necessity in the formation stage of the new WDDM, but this group should be open to all members who want to contribute to the drafting of the basic documents, provided the drafting is done publicly and transparently and the draft shall be the adopted by WDDM only when there is, at least, a clear majority (50% + 1 of the members) actually voted in favour of it. We shall no longer rely on a “silent majority” which is often a false majority and blatantly undemocractic. In other words, a proposal has majority (at least 50% + 1) support or simply it does not.

6. Do you want to be a part of the group?
A6      Yes, I do with the little I can.

7. Should the WDDM mailing list be fully moderated (any postings
would have
to be approved by one or two moderators to avoid tons of junk mail)?
A7      Yes and more.  The WDDM mailing list should be reserved for the exclusive use of WDDM for its communications with the members. Members’ discussions and postings should be in a community bulletin board where such discussions and postings would not annoy disinterested members.

Moreover, I wish to take this opportunity to apologize to three members who had joined WDDM on my personal invitation in April 2005, if they are disappointed with the “Brand New WDDM” I told them about. I have intended for quite some time to email them my apology, but somehow the hope for a miracle lingers on.

I wrote then to four individuals whom I had met in cyberspace and whom I have great respect for their general knowledge and judgement. Two of them joined WDDM enthusiastically, but the other two have doubts whether they had the required DD CV. After some persuasion from me, one of two finally joined WDDM, but other did not.

Prior to this, I had persuaded two other individuals to join WDDM as founding members. One did, but the other had very serious doubts that WDDM could ever renew itself.

I would like to propose the following questions for the members’ considerations and voting:

1 Would you like WDDM to be more than essentially a repository of DD resources?

2 Would you like WDDM to be a global true democracy community as well?

Co-incidentally, I have recently just started work on building a global true democracy community. Owing to personal circumstances, I did not commence work earlier on after my would-be partner for the project agreed to set up his own website for his country-specific DD campaign some time in the middle of this year. A global true democracy community must be primarily global in its approach.

Any member who wishes to have more details on what I mean by a global true democracy community is invited to visit my website-in-progress: http://www.tdcommunity.org/

Best Regards

Hello everybody,
It seems that there is time to try something new here in the WDDM because the
experiment in self-organizing that I have started in April clearly failed.

WDDM Wiki is apparently not used much and disliked by many. We are making steps
to have a standard bulletin Board as an addition or replacement to Wiki.

More importantly, we need finally some basic structure, and a decision making
mechanism (not to make decisions for all the people in the world, but only for
us internally, how to do our yet to be defined business, and how to define that
business).

To move things to the next stage, I want to poll all the members on their
opinions on this. I prepared a first draft of the poll questions at this page:
http://www.world-wide-democracy.net/Wiki/HowToProceedPoll
(and I will copy it at the end of this message).
In the first stage I invite everybody to comment and help to make the final
meaningful list of the questions. Then after Dec. 25, we'll proceed with
answering these questions.

I propose that those members who would not participate at all in this poll,
lose the status of active members, and would be perhaps listed only as
supporters/sympathizers. Otherwise nobody would be forced to answer all the
questions, the keep the active member status, it would be enough to answer at
least some of them (one or more?).

How To Proceed with WDDM Organizing?

Dec. 18, 2005: This is proposal for conducting a poll among the WDDM members.
Please feel free to comment on this proposal in any way (here in Wiki or in the
WDDm mailing list), and add of modify proposed questions.
Discussion of the wording of the poll questions will be closed on Dec. 25, and
after that the questions will be submitted to all the members.
They will have another week (10 days, 2 weeks???) to answer them.

1. Do you need interactive dynamical site?
2. Do you like/dislike WDDM Wiki?
3. How complicated is this Wiki to use?
4. Have you tried to read
http://www.world-wide-democracy.net/Wiki/GettingStarted?
5. Should Wiki be replaced or supplemented by something else interactive? What?
