|DISCUSSION ON HOW TO PROMOTE DIRECT (TRUE) DEMOCRACY|
Any member can post here proposals concerning WDDM (its function, mission, goals, organization).
This proposal suggests that we elect a secretary first and then figure out what s/he will do.
I don't know if we need a secretary. For sure one is needed for physical assemblies. But it's not clear that the secretary functions as defined in Roberts Rules are needed for a cyberspace assembly. After all, the activities of the executive committee and the results of initiatives are posted on our website.
Roberts Rules calls for a secretary. I respect Roberts Rules. It's about orderly discourse and decision. But it was written a century ago and it's going to need a lot of amendment to work in cyberspace.
I tend to think that we don't need a secretary. Rather we need to define the role of the webmaster and electoral tribunal
